iPhone

For students with iphones or app compatible devices, here is a list of apps that are useful during you time abroad. Some are specific to switzerland.

Facebook
We all know and love facebook! It is a great way to stay connected to our lives back in the United States and share our many adventures with friends and family!

Textplus (Gold)
Textplus assigns your app a new US phone number that you can give out to friends and family which will allow you to text with wifi. This app does not require the other person to have an iphone and has proven to be more reliable than imessage.

EasyJet
EasyJet time and time again proves to be the best rate for international flights. The app allows you to search for flights from your phone and keep track of scheduled flights.

Skype
Skype for your phone is another great way to stay connected! It does require wifi and thus is not as consistantly reliable as your computer which works well when connected to a hard line.

SBB
SBB allows you to look up trains traveling in and around Switzerland.

Blogger
The blogger app will keep all of the information provided here close. In addition, I encourage you to start a blog of your own which you will be able to work on from your phone and share with friends and family. It will also be something cool to look at when the year is over!
